Pintle or pintle-less Empty
PostSubject: Pintle or pintle-less   Pintle or pintle-less EmptySun Aug 03, 2008 12:55 am

I'm trying to figure out if it's safe to use a good fuel injector cleaner like Lucas or Redline, but it seems to depend largely on whether I have pintle or pintle-less injectors.

They changed somewhere in the 93-94 time frame, and my car was built 01/93. Any way of telling what type of injectors I have?

Very simple look at your injector connectors

If they look something like this they are the old style.

If they look more like this then they are the new ones.

Also I don’t think a little bit of Lucas will hurt either one just don’t over do it.

Thanks, Tony, good pics! Looks like I've got the newer pintle-less injectors, yay!

Also found this thread on plenum/injector replacement with pointers to Courtesy Nissan parts pages which splits 90-93 for old and 94-96 for new, hence my confusion:
