Tire Question Empty
PostSubject: Tire Question   Tire Question EmptyMon Nov 03, 2008 4:47 am

I have just bought a 2004 350 Z with 24,000 miles on it. It is very clean, finally I have my dream car...
Tire Question: On vehicle now are...
Proxes - Toyo - 225/45ZR18 95W M & S

The tires are labeled Left & Right

On the rear they are on the Left & Right... correctly...
On the front, the left is on the right and the right is on the left...
I guess someone messed up, looks like - Rocket Science... :-)
I'll need to have these tires moved...
My Question... What is the reason for a left and right tire and what is the procedure for tire rotation?

I'm VERY new at all of this... so please give me a little help...
thanks...
Sal

Sal,

The Proxes are unidirectional tires:

Putting them on backwards will cause adverse traction in the rain. Tires should always be mounted with the tread pattern pointing toward the front of the car.

Due to the staggered sizes of our wheels and tires, and your use of unidirectional tires, there is no way to rotate the tires, so just replace them when they wear out.

the only way to be able to 'rotate' is to dismount the tires from the rims and put them on the opposite side. pretty costly almost not worth it depending on your suspension setup.

Sal,
The guys pretty much summed it up...you can't rotate the tires. I'm on my second set of Toyo Proxes and I love them!

...nice to hear that you "found your dream car" I think all of us on here feel the same way!
