It's always sad to see something like this happen. My prayers go out to the poor kid who was killed.
However what I read in response to that article I was appalled. I used to go to WDW alot when I was a kid and it was nice, very clean, very safe. The last time I went back in 2002 I do have to say it was not was WDW used to be. It was dirty, food area was horrible, and the safety was not even noticeable. I haven't been back since and have no urge to go back.
Anyhow, after reading that and watching the video. Why does it look like it's light out in that video (when the man is told "no cameras" and walks away, you can see sunlight) yet the article states this happened at 2am?
The it says the park closed at 10pm and the train stayed open for another 2 hours, that would make 12am not 2am? Hmmm something smells fishy.

| Having only gone in 2000, I have nothing to compare it to but everything looked pretty buttoned up while we were there. My daughters aren't interested in going back buy my wife and I might because we didn't do everything we wanted. Maybe...
My take on the "sunlight" was that it was just more fluorescent lights in the terminal.
