what did you guys do for the day?
here at the embassy, the Marines have a tradition of hosting a haunted house for everyone as well as having a bar/dance function afterwards. this year was no different! dont have pics up yet.. but after the early evening of trick or treating with our little elmo, i rushed over to the Marine house to prep as the guide for our haunted tour.
it was about a 7min walk thru for the groups who started waking up 3 flights of dark steps. we had a chainsaw guy running up from the bottom as they neared the top (real saw!) they proceeded thru death row where we had an electric chair complete with a lady who had frizzed out her hair nearly two feet. across from her was a hanging man rigged up with the noose (and a hidden harness) that would grab at passers by..
walking into the main chamber we had a trio of zombie kids doing various things from popping out from under a kitchen pot (hole in the table, grabbing at ankles and just being plain creepy. next was a pass thru our actual bar- which of course was all darkened out with the guest freaking out when one of our guys was flicking water from his fingertips at them. theyd continue on thru a narrow passage into a large blacklight room with streamers wondering where to go.
once they found the corner to continue thru it was another narrow hall with spooks grabbing and pooping out. next was our operating table (pool table) with someone getting their guts err.. spaghetti ripped out. id heard them into the final chamber which was the stereoptypical graveyard, complete with opening caskets and more grabbing and booing. before the final corner was rounded, i had guests take a seat on a huge couch in front of our 70"? wide screen playing a scene from paranormal and of course, as they were getting sucked in, two blacked out female spooks poked at them from behind.
moving the heard to the exit, my bosses daughter who's 9, dressed up as the lil girl from the ring and just stood at the end up the strobe lit hall. once in a while she would raise an arm up and start walking towards them. some didnt even want to come down the hallway at that point. it was pretty funny. good times.
the show for us all who were working was at the afterparty where guests of the Marines ('dates') seemed to dress up in the theme of - who can wear the shortest skirt.
police officers, angels, red riding hood to prostitutes? (couldnt tell if they were dressed up in costume or not!)
good times.. wish i could have got more pix, ill upload a few later.
