| What's magic about 77"?
Mine needs wash / detail but probablywon't get it unless I go right now.
Instead, I'm watching Ronin - best car chase scenes ever! | |

| well fender to fender on the Z32 @$$ is about 70".
add a couple fender flares and it jumps to @77".
most wings available are only 59".
the APR GT500 is 70" but is also listed at $1400.00.
'F' THAT!! | |

| well when this was posted i pulled my hicas system completely out of the car. Removed the passenger side head and dissassembled it to the valve springs. freed the driver side head but got stuck on the dipstick so it seems ill be pulling my motor today but on the bright side the installs i am planning on doing will be hella easier this way. WHAT you may ask am i doing? Well 5 angle valve job and port match on the heads and also a port match on the upper and lower intake plenum. ARP head studs and GREX metal head gaskets. Replacing all the exhaust and intake gaskets, complete egr delete, replace all rubber hoses with sylicone ones, chrome balance tube, chrome NA power steering reservoir and complete hicas delete, including the na power steering pump swap. stainless steel bolt kit for plenum. Mike Smith exhaust manifolds to top it all off. new plugs uhhh new turbo gaskets AGAIN new intake filters and gunna fab in the flower pot mod. pcv either delete or re route. oh yea and pulling out all the pipeing and cleaning all the oil out that has accumulated in the intake. any comments about the pcv delete or re route please post them i want to know the pros and cons of it all. thanks | |

| It's always something, but at least I don't have to pull the motor... Since the weather's been so nice, I took the Z out of hibernation for some mid winter enjoyment. After doing a bit of driving, I noticed the smell of hot oil when I got out of the car, and said to my self... Oh no! Not Again! Well it wasn't the oil pump this time, thank goodness, but damn it's tough to get at little things when they're not positioned just right in this car. The little hose clamp seen in the pix below needed to be tightened. With the motor in the car, good luck getting a wrench or socket on it when it's oriented as it is in these pix. It may be a bit more of a hassle when the motor is out, but if the screw-head is towards the out-side of the car and facing down, it'll be a whole lot easier to get to with the motor in the car. And on Saturday I put the cat-pipes on so I can get it inspected. | |

| yes that is one of the reasons. The other is im still not done with the usmc. Anyway, Decided to go ahead and pull the motor and do a basic build ie wiseco pistons and rings arp rod bolts, main and head studs racing bearings knife edged crank bored rear coolant for 5 and 6 pistons to improve coolant and of course the head work i listed earlier as well as the coolant upgrades today i freed the motor but it was raining most of the day so i couldnt finish the pull but tomorrow i will be dropping the tranny (its already free) and then out she comes then i will proceed to pull her apart and take the parts to be machines to the machine shop and get to cleaning everything ive torn out | |

| got the motor out and completely stripped for machine work. Just waiting on my tax return and the parts to show up and not to mention the machine work to be finished to start re assembling her for the tedious re installation i plan on doing. I decided to delete egr do the pcv falve re route woody from tt.net posted and completely remove the rest of my hicas system install a na power steering pump and resourvoir as well as remove the ac system. loosing some weight as well as making some much needed space in the engein bay. we shall see how she goes | |

| filled the tank and added some injector cleaner.. made sure the cleaner was blasting away any grime by making a few 'spirited' runs @ 180 kph(= 111.846815 mph) Z is feeling mighty fine. dyno will tell whats really going on.. | |

| took the plenum, and exhaust valve covers to the body shop on base today and got my buddy justin to weld up my egr valve ports and screw holes as well as the driver side exhast valver cover pcv valve ports after i removed the elbows from the alluminum. I then took a 60 grit grinding wheel and an air grinder and dringed the egr flanges and the exess alluminum off the welds to smooth and began sanding on the plenum and valve covers to prep for power coat. Oh yea and i removed all the casting lines and circles from the plenum you can see when its assembled. | |
